What is the Return-On-Investment for tooling? DMI can help calculate this for your customers. Typically, the run cost of a pallet is divided by the number of boards run over the life of the pallet, or the total production of the board. With larger production runs, the cost of the pallet is pennies per board. The cost of not using a pallet is determined by rework time, damaged components, kapton tape costs, and increased labor for each board. If your project requirements are SMT solder, wave solder, or conformal coating, pallets will save money and time. Even for small jobs, (<100 boards) a pallet will save money. The cost of rework, or disposing of a board can be more than the entire pallet costs. DMI provides tooling for assembly stations, (manual component insertion), cleaning steps, custom fixtures for any assembly need. DMI's strength is in simple cost effective solutions to meet the customer's needs. We have found over the years that simplicity is usually easier to build, use and is more cost effective.
